8/52 -- Beds and Trick photography...

8/52 -- "Move over...?

Simon says, it's been a long day. Now go fetch me a biscuit.

It's funny -- Simon is a sharp little cookie. Like, scary sharp. He's been getting better and better at this, and yes, that top shot may not look staged, but trust me, it is. He really is getting this in leaps and bounds. Wait means, wait here where you've moved me until you tell me 'done.'

To explain in pictures...

Gosh, that tree's beautiful. The problem is, it's on a hill, and only part of it hangs into the dog run. And in front of it is my tent-garage, so that blocks most of it, plus the branches sit high. Now, I tried every way I could possibly think of to use the back deck to get the shot, no go.

... but ah ha! A flash bulb moment! Get Simon higher... how do we do that?

Like this. ;) And thus, this pose, produced the above shot. Three five minute sessions and he was on it - to the point where I just pointed to the can, he hopped up, and held his spot. By the third time he was an old pro at the pose, waiting until I put the camera down to lean over the edge and ask for his liver snack, haha. Smart dog. Scary smart dog. Not just in training, but in concepts.

*grins* It's like Disney magic, isn't it?

(Edit: Hee hee, had to put the smiling on the garbage can up instead, since everyone finds it hilarious. :D The light's not as good, but... that's okay!) ;)

I don't know why you think the tree shot is the special one - I want the trash can shot on my wall!

Verification word: Gurlita. Well, well, well. Rather flirtatious is blogger tonight!

I'm thinking it's time for Simon to start looking for serious work and earning his own money for biscuits.

What a great dog. And a great trainer really. Beautiful shot, but I agree with Joanna, I like the one standing on the trash can!

This dog should be heading for the OTCH. Are you up to it?

Galaxy is coming to visit you... with school the only training time I have for her, is during school ;0P haha Oh and the two hours of class I pay for a week, but those classes she's usually sticking her paws in her ears, telling me she can't hear me, unless she's got liver in her face ;)

That is very impressive! Trusting him not to jump/fall down would have been the hard part for me! Both shots are great!

Hahaha, aw, thanks guys! :)

I'm surprised at how many of you love the trash-can one. Thank you! XD I switched it out for a smiley one -- the light's not as good, but you can see how cool he thinks he is. ;)

Yeah, no kidding Red Dog Mom -- I keep telling him this.

Penni: Oh man, I don't know! Everyone's been suggesting it -- but when we were at Portland, we saw a jumpers and weaves class... and the person I was with said. "Simon would flip" -- which is true. He LOVES going fast, fast, fast, whoo. I need to get him into something - the problem is there's not a whole lot of great classes that are less than 2 hours away right now. The people I loved locally lost their lease. :/

Hee -- well, um, if you need me to teach her to stand on a trash can, Emily, I can do that! Send her on up! ;) Actually, I bet she could do this stuff easy!

LOL -- muddy! XD

They'd be genius little babies that would like, start driving cars and grocery shopping! Heeey, we've got a good idea going -- yeah, that's exactly it. I know what you mean -- that's the way he is. He picks up things by watching the dogs that know, or watching me, and he uses it. Scary smart.

Taryn - oh man, I trusted him not to jump down until he got told to, thank goodness. I did have to remind him to hold his feet steady though -- we're working on the command, "edge!" for feet. ;)

Seems to me Simon has long been a photo model. I have the dog biscuit bag to prove it!!
